On a personal note:

Alexandra Loveday (Lamarre) grew up in Weston CT with her mother and 3 siblings.  Her mother among other things was a professor, writer and a horticulturist.  At the age of 18, Alexandra went to England to stay with relatives and to be an Au Pair in France.  While in England she learned about gardening,  particularly English gardens.  After returning home, among other jobs, she worked with a photographer in NYC; at that time realized how interested she was in interior design and garden design.

Alexandra's Gardens became a business in the year 2000.  Alexandra is starting a line of note cards called "The Loveday Woman's Collection" slated to be in production by November 2010.

In 1983, she had her son Andrew, in 1988 they moved from Stamford to Unionville, and in 1991 she had her second son Thomas.  During the time the children were young, she worked in the school systems in order to spend time with the boys.  Andrew is now 26 and an artist and previously worked for Maurice Sendak, and Thomas is out of High School and works full-time for Frechette Lumber.
